A keyboard drawer is a kind of trivial tray that slides out from under some fixed counter or table top. The drawer is mounted on sliders that permit it to easily shift back under the table top when not in operate. The tray is commonly wide sufficient for an ergonomic keyboard, mouse and mouse pad. 1 Reduce pair pieces of 2-with-4 inch studs to 16-inches long using any table saw. Cut nosed step tread 28 to 36 inches extended for the surface about your drawer shelf. Sand and finish the wood to your desired finish. Permit the finish to dry absolutely (24 hours).
2 Place any 2-via-4 inch stud bit on either side of the stair tread piece. Attach only half about any center undermount drawer slide (there are pair pieces per side) to the front inside bottom edge of particular 2-from-4 inch stud whenever the stud is position on its 2-inch face. Mount the other piece of the drawer slide to the part of the step tread wood like near to the rounded element regarding the wood (front) as possible. Repeat this for the second 2-by-4 inch stud and the other side of the tread.
3 Slide the stair tread brackets in the receiving brackets of the 2-by-4 inch studs. Slide the drawer shelf again also forth to make sure it is working properly.
4 Mount double L brackets about 12 inches aside on the outside of the 2-by-4 inch studs accordingly that the bracket is flush through the top 2-inch encounter. Repeat for the two sides.
5 Attach your drawer away from the underside. Align the closed drawer with the front edge of the table. Screw up through the L-brackets in the underside about the table top using screws that will not penetrate the top area of the table.
